How Can I Help You?

Hello everyone,

I'm putting together business goals for 2010.  I've gone back over my blog to see what was good and what needs improvement and I can see a lot of room for growth.  But the biggest question I need to ask is how can I help you?  What is it that you would look for from a doll clothing and accessory company?  Would you like to see sales?  Is there something you would like to see in the product line?  How do you like this blog and what would you like to see here?

I'm really interested in your input so please drop me a line!

In the meantime, I'm wishing those who celebrate a wonderful Christmas and to all the Happiest of New Year's!!

Love and Blessings!

Madame Alexander is Coming to Emily Rose!!!

This is EXCITING News! Emily Rose will start carrying the newest 18" Madame Alexander dolls in Late December!! They are so adorable and I know you will love them! I have several of the older Madame Alexander dolls and I LOVE them!

Here are a few that will be available:

They probably won't be here in time for the Holidays which is too bad!

If you can't wait until then, you can get the older versions from Toys R Us, Sears and Costco (Holiday Season only, not available online).

One thing that Emily Rose Doll Clothes does not have is matching outfits for your little girl and American Girl doll or similar 18"dolls. However, there are several companies that do and they are too too cute! Burlington Coat Factory has a line but I don't know the name. Sears and Kohl's just introduced their Dollie & Me line.

Happy Shopping!

Love and Blessings!

New Outfits!!!

Oh my goodness, our new outfits are in and they are beautiful! You will love them!

My favorites are the Jeans and t-shirts basics... what doll doesn't need variety???

And of course the Holiday Plaid Dress and Purse because I love anything Christmassy!:

Of course, you would love to see all of them so check them out here!

Now if you made it this far, I can't let you go without sweetening the deal for you a bit! Emily Rose has kindly offered a FREE Shipping code for any orders over $40!! Woohoo! So you can get all of the outfits you want and pay NO shipping (clothes only and one item must be from New Arrivals, no furniture is included in this sale.)!!! Just enter the code "NEWARR" when you are checking out to get the free shipping! Now hurry over to the store, this offer ends on Wednesday (11/18)!!

Mimi's Corner - October 24

Hi everyone,

It's Mimi. I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy with school and piano. And my brother is in a play so my mom has been driving around a lot!

Yesterday, I had a Girl Scout meeting and we decorated pumpkins. Last night, I cut open the pumpkin and found lots of seeds. This morning I put the seeds in the oven and I baked them. After that I put some salt on them and they tasted so good!

A few weeks ago, we went to a Girl Scout event. Only three of us went even though we have eight girls.

First Mr. Ferry from Happily Ever After in Philadelphia told us about owning a toy shop.

Then Ms. Starr told us about fixing and cleaning dolls.

Also, there was a doll museum by my mom's doll club and we also did stations. The first station was making a paper doll. The paper doll could look like you and that's how I made mine. The next station was to make a scrapbook about the doll museum. Next we took a picture with our dolls and all my friends looked beautiful. Then we made Snappy dolls. The Snappy dolls are dolls you can make all by yourself. You can mix and match skin tones like pink and blue and purple, or regular skin tones. Later, we had snack and watched a movie called Bluette goes to Paris. After the snack (but the movie was still on) we colored pictures again. Finally, we did door prizes. Unfortunately, my friend N, forgot to enter the door prizes!!! But my other friend J, won a porcelain doll and I won a wooden doll highchair. It was so fun! Then it was over and we went home!

Have a great day! (and thanks for the pictures Mom!)

Emily Rose Store Problem

Apparently there was a problem with the Emily Rose Store earlier today. The ISP was having issues that affected the store. According to Lisa-Marie, our store owner, it is now back up and running properly. If you tried to access earlier and could not get in, please try again!

Thanks for your patience!

This Week Around the Doll World 10/20

Lots going on in the doll world this week!

A lot of people are asking about less expensive alternatives to the American Girl Doll, dolls that can still fit our Emily Rose Doll Clothes. Here is a list of some dolls that we found that can fit our clothes:

Our Generation at Target
Madame Alexander at Toys R Us and Costco (but they are not online right now)
B-Girlz at Sam's Club

Newly Discovered Doll Artist - Wendy Frank - My friend Nay let me know about a doll artist from Australia. She makes the most unique dolls! Here is a picture of the one that Nay got:

Isn't she sweet? You can read more about her and how she was made here!

Did you know that Disney has a new princess on the block??? Tiana from Disney's The Princess and the Frog is now on toy store shelves and she is a beauty! There are several versions but here are my favorites:

Just One Kiss

Picture rights belong to Disney

The "regular Princess Tiana

Picture rights belong to Disney.

And the Toddler Princess Tiana

Picture rights belongs to Disney.

She is just too sweet for words!

My daughter and I are excited to see the movie when it comes out later this year!

Jailbreak Toys just released a new doll of the first lady Michelle Obama. I don't like it at all, it's too cartoonish! Anyway if you would like to read one of the articles about the doll, here is a link to the New York Times. I like the one at Danbury Mint much better!

Around the Doll World Part II

Hi everyone,

This is the first time I had to sit down and finish my News Around the Doll World. There's a lot to talk about this week.

First, if you are in the market for some cute cloth dolls, check out this site:
These dolls are so cute, I'm thinking of ordering one for my friend's grandbaby. Can you believe she's almost FIVE MONTHS old and doesn't have her first doll?!?! Oh the horror!! The company is not doing custom orders until December but they will be doing uploads of these adorable dolls!

I mentioned the Avon Dolls last week, then I found out Sears is also coming out with a line of 18" dolls. Yaay! More dolls to dress. Here is a link to the cuties! This one is my favorite!

I'm pretty sure these are Madame Alexander dolls but I'll have to check when I go to the store. I wonder if Kmart will have them as well since they are essentially Sears?

Great news on the Emily Rose at Home NJ front. We will soon be offering paper doll parties!! I think paper dolls are so fun for the attendees and they will get to cut and color their own dolls. More details will be coming soon!!

Hope you enjoyed News Around the Doll World!

Tuesday Around the Doll World - 10/6

There is so much news around the doll world that I'm going to spread it over two days! I wanted to dedicate today to a special artist I found through my google alerts. Her name is Faith and this is her site: Sundrip

You know how something catches your attention and you know it's special but you are not quite sure why? Well that's how I felt when I first came across Faith's dolls. I saw this little cutie in a red hat, her name is Lisa:

http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.94199093.jpg

Something about her eyes and the serious lips that want to smile, really captured my attention. I HAD to contact the artist and then I knew... she is one special lady.

Here is what Faith Shared with me:

"One of the things I do with my dolls that isn't really heard of is make inner child dolls for African-American children in therapy. Therapy includes physical and emotional therapy. I've made several, some are posted in my doll gallery but others are not. If the person chooses not to have their therapy doll posted I don't. I respect their privacy. The other thing is this, each doll is hand sewn not machine sewn. The faces are hand painted, the hair chosen carefully to fit the desired look and the outfit is chosen carefully. I actually have a wardrobe for future dolls. The amount of thought that goes into each doll is extensive. I thoroughly enjoy making them. The doll you asked about is doll number 16. She's got big brown eyes with a tad bit of gold above them. Her hair is in three pony tails which is a standard black hair style for little girls. She's got little black shoes and a sweet dress. I think the addition that makes her stand out is the red beret. She's currently sitting on my shelf with my personal doll collection (I'm a collector myself) as she waits for a new home. "

I don't know if these are therapy dolls but here are more of her beautiful dolls:

What a wonderful service to these young children that need a physical source of comfort. And please please please take a stroll through her gallery! She is obviously a multitalented artist! There are several of her paintings that I have to get prints of!! If you read Faith's About Me page you'll know as I have learned what a extraordinary giving person she is. I don't know her at all... but I do. I know that she has taken her own hurts and pains and poured herself into helping others heal. God Bless you Faith and thank you for allowing me to write about you and your dolls!

**** Pictures used are with the permission of the artist!****

Outfit of the Week 10/5 (or thereabouts)

Hello all,

I wanted to make sure I shared with you the outfit of the week. This one is just SO SO cute!! I don't know about where you are but the cold weather just came in so fast for us. Jasmine was thrilled because it was cool enough to wear her new Varsity Star Outfit (link):

The jacket is made in traditional fashion with white "leather" sleeves. My tomboy Jazzy just loves it, especially since her varsity letter is sewn on the back:

Doesn't she look cute?!? The outfit also comes with her jeans and a short sleeved white top to wear underneath the jacket. Her "kicks" are also available in our Emily Rose Store.

Enjoy and be blessed!

Thursday Inspiration - Success

“Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time.” - Arnold Glasgow

“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be” - George Sheehan

“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.” - Swami Vivekananda

Tuesday Around the Doll World - 9/29

Hello Everyone!

Posting a little late tonight, it's been a BUSY day!!

Here are the dolly news items that I found for this week!

Barbie is getting a new store in the Mall of America. The store will be opening in October2009 and is expected to stay open until March 2010! Maybe I'll make it there before it closes!!

Barbie - Mall of America

What's the hoopla about??? People have suddenly started making a fuss over Gwen, one of the 2009 American Girl dolls. It turns out Gwen and her mother are homeless after being abandoned by her father. The public outcry is because not only is AG charging $95 for this doll, none of the money is going to HELP the homeless? What are your thoughts on this doll and her story? American Girl Gwen Thompson

Speaking of costly dolls, you HAVE to check out the new BJD's that have been released for the Angelic Dreamz store! They are HOT!!

Jamieshow Dolls

I dont' see one making it into my collection anytime soon but they sure are yummy!

It's party time at Toys R Us!! They are having a Moxie Girl Party this Saturday from 12-2! Lots of fun games and giveaways. If you haven't seen the Moxie girls check my earlier post to see Sasha! you can see them all on their own cool website too: Moxie Girlz When you buy a doll, you get a secret code for the website, lots of fun and hours of entertainment I'm sure!

That's all for this week folks! Be blessed and I'll see you next week!!

Tuesday Around the Doll World - 9/22

Hello everyone!

I'm going to share with you some news from around the doll world!

I'm really loving the new Moxie Girls by MGA. They are cute and not sleazy like the Bratz dolls. I like their trendy outfits and the fun themes. This is my Jammaz Sasha. Isn't she gorgeous?

Here she is up close, I just love her features.

Here she is with all of her goodies!

There's even a little inspirational hang tag and the back of the box has a positive message for girls.  Did I say I really like these dolls???

I read here that Avon will be introducing a new line of 18" Madame Alexander dolls, they are really cute!

Just in case you were wondering, Yes they do fit Emily Rose clothes!!

Lastly, Toys R Us is having a sale this week on their barbies and princess dolls.  Buy 2 get 1 free, no coupon needed!  It's an offer I can't refuse!

Monday Outfit of the Week!

Whew! It's so nice to be back and blogging again. I missed it but just didn't seem to have the time and/or patience to do good posts. But we are back now and hopefully we'll stay on schedule!

Now for the outfit of the week. I have to say I fell in love with this dress the minute I saw it. It's a beautiful pink satin gown with a lace overlay. The overlay has such gorgeous flowers embroidered into it! Anyway, they say a picture is worth a thousand words so here is Ginger modeling the embroidered bow dress

dress 1

Isn't it gorgeous. Ginger looks like she's going to a party or a prom! Here's a close up of the beautiful detail!

dress 3

And the back view with the gorgeous sash!

dress 4

I matched this dress up with these adorable pink bow shoes!

dress 2

I know you will love this dress as much as I do! Oh and it washes really easy, we had an incident with red juice. I washed it in cold water with a touch of dish detergent, rinsed it really well and laid it flat to dry. No sign of the juice!!

Have a blessed day!
Margaret

We're back!

Whew! The first few weeks of school knocked us for a loop! I thought I was prepared but I guess not! Anyhow, I will be posting the outfit of the week shortly and we should be on track for this week. I'm also going to post a question that I would love to have your input on!

Friday's Inspiration

This week I thought this was the appropriate day to share inspiration. In the face of trial, in times of challenge, in the midst of our sorrow, it serves well to remember...

Our God reigns over the heavens
Over the earth, Our God reigns
Praise His name, All still standing
All that was, all that remains
Our God reigns

From the song Our God Reigns by Brandon Heath

Outfit of the week 9/7 - Pink Camo PJ's

Hi everyone,

The reason this is late is because I had a very hard time waking up my sleepy-head Addy!! But here she is in her Camo Pink PJ's. Her favorite PJ set also includes a sweet Teddy Bear!

Pink Camo is not your thing? How about Pink Leopard PJ's! Your doll will feel like she's sleeping in luxury with these great PJ's!

These Satiny PJ's have the most adorable matching robe!

If you are looking for a sweet sleep, how about the Tank Heart PJ's covered in tiny hearts!

Of course there are many more beautiful PJ outfits at our website store!

Tuesday Around the Doll World - 9/8

Okay I know this is a day late but I'm trying to get back on track!

When you are a doll collector, I think it is important to understand a history of dolls. That is one of the main reasons I joined a local doll club, I wanted to find out more about the types of dolls I collect as well as other historically important facts about dolls in general. That's why I was so excited when I found Elizabeth Almeida. Her in depth articles are so wonderfully written and full of information. Set aside some time and read some of her articles. You won't be disappointed:

NY Doll Collecting Examiner

Another examiner writer highlighted the Pottery Barn 50th Anniversary barbies. They are so cute!

ALL PHOTO RIGHTS BELONG TO POTTERY BARN KIDS AND MATTEL

Check out the article here.

That's all the collecting news I have for this week, I hope you enjoyed!

Thursday Inspiration (a day late)

I was doing some reading this morning and I came across this quote:

" How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all those."
George Washington Carver

Definitely words to consider!!

Tuesday Around the Doll World - 9/1

Hello everyone,

It was the first day of school today so I'm running a little behind!!

First I have the beautiful Passion, "daughter" of Debbie Garrett. She's modeling the beautiful Butterfly Skirt and Vest which is available in our Emily Rose store.

Isn't she the cutest!!

Next we have the newest on the Barbie Scene. Barbie is introducing what they call the Fashionista line. These funky fresh dolls even have their own video!! Don't you want to learn to do the Barbie???

The Barbie® Official Music Video 2009
(thanks to Vanessa for the head's up!)

Very interesting video for sure. The dolls are kind of cute, check out the Chicago Toy Examiner for detailed info!

You know with school starting, our 18 inch girls need to look their best. Check out the Doll*Clothes Patterns for simple instructions on making your girls the most adorable headbands!! I think even I can make these! LOL!

Last but not least, I came across this ADORABLE book and doll set at Dollmaker's Delight This is a perfect set for a little one just getting introduced to dolls!

That's all for today! Have a blessed week!

Aggie is back with the outfit of the week. This time she has her soccer bag and ball as well. This is a cute fleece outfit that will stand up to rugged play. It fits 18" inch dolls like the American Girl Doll, Madamae Alexander, and also some 21 inch dolls like the Karito Kids. This particular outfit will also fit the American Girl Bitty baby and similar sized dolls.

Does your doll like to exercise rather than play soccer? She will look adorable in this Yoga Outfit that is available at our Emily Rose Store:

Or maybe she's the martial arts kind of girl. She'll be right at home in our Karate Kicks outfit!

Whatever her sport make sure she's dressed in the best!
